Somali National Army has conducted an operation to ensure the security of Jowhar town, the capital of middle Shabelle province today on monday according to the officials.

Army Commander, Khalif Abdulle Abdi told SNARadio that the Security operation is aimed to protect any security threat could hinder the stability of Jowhar town and rest of the region.

 

"We are carrying out home to search operations, we also check hotels for the possibility of terrorist elements hiding in those areas, the Security is high alert and the city is completely prepared to host the conference for the two regions”, Khalif added.

The commander did not tell if there were some suspects detained during the operation.

Jowhar enjoins a relevant peace and it is among towns where Al-qaeda linked group of Al-Shabab were removed three years earlier, but did not often happen terrorist attacks, it is 90 kilometers in the north to the capital Mogadishu.

Jowhar town is expected to host a conference in which a state for Hiiraan and middle Shabelle regions are to be established next month in 2016

 

Such Security Operation comes top government are also expected to reach there within today on Monday and tomorrow according to the officials.
