Chinese Government on Monday congratulated President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sh. Mohamud as the new President.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Zhoa Lijian said that Somalia’s peace and development will open a new chapter with great development and in China and Somali relations.

 

” China is willing to work with int’l community to continue to play a constructive role in bringing about lasting peace and national reconstruction in Somalia”, he said.

 

The Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Shengchoa who attended the presidential election Sunday, May 15th,2022 here in the capital Mogadishu, has been impressed by the peaceful transfer of power between the two Somali presidents.

 

"I was very much impressed by yesterday’s presidential election, particularly its peaceful and graceful transfer of power between the two presidents, which is not easy for any country. Wish Somalia greater success in peace, security and development”, Fei said.

 

"I specially called on two presidents in the hangar’s VIP rooms after the election. I congratulated President-Elect Mohamud on his success, and expressed my best wishes for his high office and high hopes for even greater development in relations for both nations and beyond”, The Envoy said.

 

The Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Shengchoa promised enhancing the historic ties, and cooperation between China and Somalia.
