A senior Al shabaab commander surrendered to Somali Government troops in Somalia's south-western Gedo region, according to military officials who spoke to the media.
The Al-Shabaab official, named Mohamed Ali Mohamed, which
is known as in side Al Shabab as ‘Mohamed Ferey’, reportedly led Al-Shabaab
operations in Gedo, Bay and Bakol regions.
"After his surrender, he was flown to Mogadishu and
handed him over to Somali intelligence and security agency (NISA). He is now in
Government custody and being questioned by the security,” said military
officer.
Military commander noted GOD willing that they will continue
their operations and will clear Al shabab out of the country and soon they will
with the help of Allah.
