A district official says at least five Al shabaab members were killed in an offensive carried out by Somali military soldiers near Diinsoor town in Bay region.

Speaking in a phone interview with the media, Diinsoor district administrator Ibrahim Mohamed Nur (Shig-shigow) said the army prevented an impending attack by Al shabaab at Bulo-odey area.

 

"The SNA raided Al shabaab base after receiving a tip-off from local residents that the Anti peace Al shabab  were organizing an attack in the rebel-held Bulo-odey village,” said Shig-shigow during the interview.

 

 

The attack resulted hours-long fierce clash between the army and Al shabaab, he added that SNA is committed to continue fight against the Al shabaab to flush out the Anti Peace Al Shabab the whole region.
