Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia has on Tuesday banned people going to celebrate for Christmas festivals in the country.

Maxamed Kherow said, " We inform to Somali people here in Mogadishu and elsewhere to avoid holding celebrations for Charismas because this is related to a doctrine, we are Muslim Community we have other great days, but the coming one is for Christians”.

The director added that such activity on Christmas occasions held in hotels might bring problem.

Somali Scholars also gave such messages to the people who might be thinking to take part in marking Christmas festivals in Mogadishu.
