At least 15 al-Shabaab were killed and several others wounded following joint operations conducted by Somali National Army and Jubbaland Security forces in lower jubba regions.

During the operation the troops killed 15 Al shabaab and wounded several others also destroyed several Al shabaab bases.

The operation was conducted in several villages under Kismayo town which are Berhani, Dharkay, Yaq-anole and Sariraha.

 

The troops detonated six landmines, which were planted along the road side by al-Shabaab.

 

The officials said the government forces have pushed al-Shabab out of many of their areas which are all on the outskirts of Kismayo in lower juba region.

 

The military officials said that they will continue with the joint operations in until al-Shabab is flushed out of the southern region.

 

Somali National Army has intensified security operations against the terrorist as the country kicked off national elections across the country.
