A high-level delegation led by the speaker of Somali parliament Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari has on Tuesday arrived in the southern posrt city of Kismayo a head of a consultative conference on the 2016 electoral process.

The speaker was warmly welcomes at Kismayo airport by Jubbaland officials and he was escorted to the conference hall, where he will officially open a national forum on 2016 elections later today.

 

Reports from Kismayo suggest that many delegates from the regional administrations, federal government and international community representatives are in attendance of the meeting

 

Ethiopian troops of AMISOM contingent are visible on the main streets of the city to boost up the security during the forum on 2016 elections being held in Kismayo, the capital of Jubbaland state.
