Deputy Premier of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Omar Arta has on Monday opened National Conference for Somali media development strategy in Mogadishu.

The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism has organized the conference in partnership with stakeholders and National Union of Somali journalists based in Mogadishu.

Media representatives from ministries of Information of the regional administration, media houses and Federal Parliament’s commission for media affairs attended the conference of media development strategy.

Mohamed Abdi Hayer, Minister of Information said the forum to be very important as Somali had media law for the first time.

Such conference comes a day after the Somali President Hassan Sh. Mohamud signed the media law according to Somali National News Agency.

The conference is to be concluded today on Tuesday.
