At least five Al-Shabab were killed and more others injured after heavy fighting between Somali National Army and Al-qeada linked group of Al-Shabab at Warmahan neighborhood in lower Shabelle region southern Somalia on Monday Evening , officials said.

Gen. Mohamud Mohamed Saney, National Army Commander based in section April 12 based in lower Shabelle region said they chased Al-Shabab who took coward attack against them mid last night.

 

Mr Saney said, "The operation ended successfully, we are controlling the area now and our braves soldiers are ready to continue this operation until we will finish Ugus, but we defeated the terrorist fighters, they run with some of dead bodies away, it is not true that they captured Warmahan villageā€.

 

Spokesman of lower Shabelle province, Mohamed Shino said the fighting was an ambush attack by Al-Shabab, they tried to seize the area, but government forces resisted them.
