    Somali Military Court carries out death penalty

    National Military Court has on Sunday executed a government soldier who was allegedly killed a civilian in Mogadishu on February, 2015 according to the officials.

National Military Court has on Sunday executed a government soldier who was allegedly killed a civilian in Mogadishu on February, 2015 according to the officials.

Mustafa Mahiya Doyow, 26 faced execution by fire squad and it occurred at an area where death penalties are carried out the Somali military court.

Deputy prosecutor of Somali National Military Court, Abdullahi Hussein Mohamed said, " The Court sat the hearing of the crime case of Mustafa Mahiya on April 7, 2015, he was found guilty of killing an innocent civilian in Daynile district in Benadir region, he killed Mohamed Qasim Barow”.

Mustaf Mahiye was one of the soldiers of Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency and he was sentenced to a death penalty, his execution happened this morning”, the Deputy Prosecutor added

Officials from all Security, police and military were in attendance at the area.

This is not the first time, the Military Court carries out death penalty cases, it usually sentences and implements the executions against criminals mostly Al-Shabab  found in plots, assassination and government soldiers.
