The Minister of Defence, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, today presided over the closing ceremony of a two-day training on the Budget Formulation Process held at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Mogadishu.

The training, attended by Directors General and senior staff of the Ministry, was conducted by experts from the SJGAP project. It focused on key areas including budget implementation, expenditure control, reporting, accountability, and performance-based planning—enhancing participants’ capacity to apply these principles effectively in their work.

Minister Fiqi underscored the importance of expanding such capacity-building initiatives to ensure the Ministry’s budgeting and planning processes are fully aligned with national priorities and broader efforts to strengthen Somalia’s defence institutions.
