Mogadishu, Somalia – The Commander of the Somali National Army Land Forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar "General Khalid," warmly welcomed Major General Sam Okiding, the Deputy Commander of the Uganda People's Defence Force, today at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation and collaboration between Somalia and Uganda. Major General Okiding is expected to contribute to accelerating operations aimed at eliminating the Khawarij and terrorist groups that threaten the peace and stability of the country.

The welcoming ceremony was also attended by senior officers of the Somali National Army, highlighting the importance of the strong military relationship between the two countries and the key role Uganda plays in peacekeeping and security efforts in Somalia.

Major General Sam Okiding's visit is expected to further enhance the cooperation between the two armies in areas such as operations, training, and strategies for combating the Khawarij.
