The operation targeted areas in the center of the district and nearby locations where Khawarij were based. Airstrikes—conducted in coordination with international partners and the Somali National Army—combined with ground operations, resulted in the killing of more than 15 members of the khawarij. Additionally, three vehicles were destroyed: two were combat vehicles and the third was an ambulance that the Alshabab had repurposed for malicious use.
During the operation, Bashiir Ahmed Dhuxul—also known as Bashiir Caadle—was killed. He was the so-called "Amir of Da'wah" for the Al-Shabaab Khawarij in the Middle Shabelle region. Bashiir Caadle was one of the most active leaders involved in Khawarij and spreading extremist ideology. His death is considered a major blow to the leadership of the Alshabab.
The DanabSpeacail forces carried out the attack professionally, targeting key locations where the terrorists were hiding and planning attacks. The Alshabab fled the area, leaving behind dead and wounded members.
The Somali National Army's command stated that this operation is part of a broader plan to eliminate Khawarij and ensure the country’s peace and stability. The Federal Government of Somalia warns Khawarij that any threat to Somali citizens will not be tolerated.
