The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today bid farewell to units of the armed forces from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), who have received specialized training in counterterrorism operations.

These troops, who were trained in advanced combat tactics, particularly in executing planned attacks, received their training from experts of the Turkish government. They will officially join ongoing operations aimed at eradicating khawaarij and ensuring national security, law and order, and stability.

The President emphasized that these forces would play a crucial role in dismantling khawaarij hideouts and eliminating their leaders, given their rigorous training. He urged the Somali people to support the national army in its fight against extremist groups.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his gratitude to the Turkish government for its continuous support to Somalia, particularly in strengthening and enhancing the country’s security forces. He encouraged the newly trained soldiers to uphold their oath and remain committed to the noble duty of defending their nation.
