The two sides discussed the depth of bilateral relations and the strengthening of joint cooperation between the two countries, including the reactivation of agreements on defense.

Somalia plans to strengthen its national army with support with its allies to carry out security operations to curb terrorism and to protect its land, sea and air borders.

The meeting was attended by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmed-Kheir Abdi , the State Minister for the Prime Minister’s Office, H.E. Mr. Abdullahi Hamud, Somalia’s Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Mr. Abdirahman Sheikh Esse, and the Chief of Defence Forces of the Somali National Army Maj. Gen. Dahir Aden Elmi.
