The Minister of Defence, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, who today attended the 3rd National Conference of Somali Ulama—opened by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud—stated that the gathering plays a crucial role in reinforcing the core values that unite Somali society.

Minister Fiqi highlighted that since 2023, the Somali public has clearly recognised the threat posed by terrorists, their deceptive narratives, and their utter lack of religious legitimacy. This growing awareness, he noted, has empowered citizens to support the Government’s efforts and firmly reject extremist ideology.

The Minister commended Somali Ulama for their vital role in public awareness, promoting unity, and backing national efforts to eradicate terrorism. He encouraged them to continue their invaluable service to the country.
