Somali National Army forces, specifically the 191st Battalion of the 19th Gorgor Commando Brigade, today carried out a clearance operation in the areas of Calanley, Masaale, and Ruun Shiiqow in Middle Shabelle region.

The operation targeted locations reported to have been used by Al-Shabaab to destabilize security and extort local residents in the region.

Captain Mukhtaar Ahmed Omar, Commander of the 191st Battalion who led the mission, told to Somali National Armed Forces’ media that the troops successfully achieved the objectives of the operation.
