The Somali National Army's commandos unit, Gorgor, today carried out a security clearance operation around the areas of Maracade, Garas Gawaan, and Galka Saalimow in the Lower Shabelle region.

The operation, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region, involved thorough security checks on vehicles, houses, and suspected individuals to ensure that all potential threats to civilians were eliminated.

Commanders leading the mission stated that the aim was to eradicate Khawarij hideouts and ensure the safety of key routes used by the local population.

The Gorgor Commandos reaffirmed their commitment to continue these clearing operations across various parts of Lower Shabelle to guarantee lasting security and stability for the residents.
