The Chief of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), Gen Odowaa Yusuf Raage, today welcomed the former Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and current Somali Envoy to the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Gen Abdirahman Mohamed Turyare, at the SNA Headquarters in the Ministry of Defence.

The meeting focused on the vital role of the Somali National Army and the importance of international cooperation in eliminating terrorism threats. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen collaboration between the national forces and international partners to ensure stability in Somalia and across the wider region.

Gen Turyare briefed the Army Chief on the ongoing activities of IMCTC and its contribution to counter-terrorism efforts. He highlighted the coalition’s focus on dismantling extremist ideologies, cutting off terrorist financing, and weakening the enemy capabilities.

This cooperation is seen as a key component of the Federal Government of Somalia’s broader efforts to secure peace, stability, and security in the country.
