The Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), in coordination with international partners, conducted a planned operation in the early hours of this morning targeting Al-Shabaab Khawarij in Awdheegle district, Lower Shabelle region.

During the operation, seven Al-Shabaab Khawarij were killed and several others wounded while engaged in activities aimed at terrorising local farmers

The Khawarij had deliberately diverted water into farmlands in an attempt to destroy crops and cripple the livelihoods and commerce of the community.

The Somali National Armed Forces remain resolute in their duty to defend the Somali people, protect their livelihoods, and ensure the total defeat of terrorist groups so that peace and prosperity may prevail across the nation.
