More details have emerged regarding a joint operation carried out last night by the Somali National Army (SNA) and African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) troops in Beeynax farms near Buulo-Mareer, Lower Shabelle region.
During the operation, a senior Al-Shabaab commander identified as Khadaab —Who was the deputy to Maryan Gubaay Maduulow — was killed. Khadaab was notorious for orchestrating ambushes and inflicting suffering on the local population.
The forces also seized critical equipment used by the Khawarij, including surveillance cameras and binoculars, further weakening the group’s operational capacity.
