The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today inaugurated the Headquarters of the Reconnaissance and Intelligence Command of the Somali National Armed Forces.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defence, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, the State Minister of Defence, H.E. Omar Ali Abdi, the Chief of Defence Forces, General Odowa Yusuf Rage, as well as senior officers of the Armed Forces.

Following the inauguration, the President visited the Ministry of Defence, where he received a detailed briefing on the recent operational gains achieved by the Somali National Armed Forces in the Galguduud and Lower Shabelle regions.

In his remarks, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Armed Forces for their unwavering efforts, emphasising that every success is a testament to the resilience of the Somali people and the valour of their armed forces.
