During the discussions, the commander addressed the current situation in the area and the living conditions following its liberation.

He noted that the militants had deliberately destroyed vital community infrastructure, including bridges, homes, mosques, and other essential public facilities — clear evidence of the hardship they inflicted on Somali civilians.

General Khalid assured the elders that the SNA would play an active role in supporting reconstruction and assisting the community, particularly in rebuilding bridges and public facilities, to help restore normal life and development in the area.

For their part, the elders expressed gratitude for the meeting and pledged to work closely with the army, commending the soldiers for their sacrifice in freeing the community from extremist control.
