The infantry Commander of Somali National Army forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar "General Khalid," today bid farewell at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu to a delegation of Egyptian military officers who had been in the country on a working visit.

During their stay, the Egyptian officers carried out key assignments in support of the Somali National Army, including visits to Jowhar, Balcad, Mahaday, Buurane, and Ballidoogle airbase.

Brigadier General Sahal highlighted that the visit reflects the strengthening partnership between Somalia and Egypt. He extended gratitude to the Egyptian government for its continued support and solidarity with the people and government of Somalia.

The officers who departed today are part of an advance mission, paving the way for Egyptian troops who will soon join the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
