Somali National Army forces, particularly the 81st Battalion of the 77th Brigade, this morning carried out planned operations in the areas of Muryaale and Deeganley in Middle Shabelle region.

The operations targeted hideouts where Al-Shabaab Khawarij were plotting attacks and causing harm to local communities.

Commander of the 81st Battalion, Captain AbdiYare Erag, stated that during the operation, troops arrested several suspected Al-Shabaab who had been hiding in those areas.

The locations of the operation are near Balcad district, where the SNA successfully secured the areas, which Khawarij had occasionally used to carry out hostile acts against civilians and local farmers.
