The Chief of the Somali National Army (SNA), General Odowa Yusuf Rage, today visited Bariire in the Lower Shabelle region, recently liberated from Al-Shabaab. The visit took place as stabilisation efforts continue to ensure the safe and orderly return of residents to their homes.
While in Bariire, the Chief inspected SNA positions and was briefed by field commanders on the progress of clearance operations following the liberation of the town.
General Odowa urged the forces to maintain the momentum of ongoing operations to eliminate the remaining threat of Al-Shabaab, safeguard local communities, and consolidate security gains.
The visit reflects the continued commitment of the SNA leadership to support and motivate frontline troops, whose dedication remains vital to defending Somalia’s sovereignty, stability, and the wellbeing of its people.
