The Land Forces Commander of Somali National Army's , Gen Sahal Abdullahi Omar, paid a working visit to the strategic town of Bariire in the Lower Shabelle region, recently liberated by the Somali National Army (SNA) and their partners from the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) from the grip of the Al-Shabaab, delivering them what he described as an unforgettable lesson.

During the visit, Gen Sahal toured the former trenches and bases vacated by the Khawarij, where numerous enemy bodies, large caches of weapons, and other military supplies abandoned during their retreat were found.

Commander of the SNA’s 17th Commando Brigade, Colonel Ali Ageey, briefed the Commander on the current security situation and the measures taken by the troops to stabilize the area.

The Commander praised the bravery and dedication of the SNA forces and their UPDF allies involved in the operation, urging them to double their efforts to eradicate the Al-Shabaab Khawarij who continue to threaten the Somali people.
