The session was officially opened by H.E.Omar Ali Abdi, State Minister for Defence, and chaired by Brigadier General Madey Nurey Sheikh, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces of the SNA Force. Senior military officials from EASF member states convened to deliberate on regional defence cooperation, operational preparedness, and strategic planning.
EASF Director, Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, presented the draft EASF Strategic Plan (2026–2030). The outcomes of the CDF session will form the basis for discussions at the Council of Ministers Meeting scheduled for later this week.
Delegates from member states commended Somalia for hosting the session, describing it as a symbol of regional unity and a strong reflection of the country’s growing stability.
