
The President Participated the Independence and Unity Day Celebration
Mogadishu, July 1, 2025 – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, participated in the 65th anniversary celebration of the country's Independence and Unity Day.
During the commemoration, the President urged the Somali people to strengthen their unity, solidarity, and commitment to statehood.
The President, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, was accompanied by the Chief of the Somali National Army, General Odowaa Yusuf Raage. Together, they reviewed a ceremonial guard of honor at the Daljirka Dahsoon monument, with troops parading along Maka Al-Mukarramah Road in Mogadishu.
The celebrations featured a showcase of the Somali Armed Forces' readiness, including aerial displays by the Air Force, naval units from the Somali Navy, as well as military tanks and combat vehicles from the National Army and Police Force. The parade highlighted the preparedness of Somalia’s security forces in defending the nation’s sovereignty, unity, and peace.
