Mogadishu, Sunday, June 1, 2025 — The Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia held a special meeting today, chaired by Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, to discuss key issues related to national security and stability.

The meeting focused on evaluating the overall security situation in the country, improving coordination among security agencies, strengthening the role of communities in promoting peace and stability, and preparing the nation for the upcoming Eid celebrations, Independence Week and national examinations.

The Council also described Somalia’s admission into the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) as a historic achievement for the country.
