Mogadishu, March 11, 2021 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud Abubakar, expressed his deep condolences and his sincere feelings of compassion following the death of the former President of Somalia, Ali Mahdi Mohamed, on Wednesday evening in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, after being hospitalized as a result of his deteriorating health in recent days, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the Somali people.
In his message, the minister said, "We were greatly saddened by the news of the death of our former president. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult and tragic time, asking Allah to bless the deceased with his mercy and forgiveness, grant him a high position in his spacious paradise, and inspire his family and relatives with patience and solace."

"Surely to Allah we belong and to him we shall return"
